College of the Swamp Song Bard
Here we go! Banderhobbtober 2022 is off to a loud start with the College of the Swamp Song Bard. Summon frogs and darkness to impede your foes then sting them with cruel poison that ignores their defenses…all while singing some happy chirpy tunes! This subclass pairs wonderfully with the Banderborn race if you want to really lean in on the Banderhobb flavor (and maybe partner up with a beefy Path of the Banderhobb Barbarian!) and Banderhobb-styled items, but it’ll pair nicely with anything! Imagine a Lizardfolk, Tortle or Goblin swamp bard? Nice.
The College of the Swamp Song is available now in the shop for free!
Overview
Bards of the College of the Swamp Song revel in the sounds and creatures of the swampy marshlands. They have even developed a magical ability to bring aspects of the swamp with them on their journeys. While most bards maintain some level of musical excellence, these individuals take that tradition in a new direction with the inclusion of bug chirps, toad burps and other familiar sound effects.
Often looked down on by other more sophisticated bards for being a backwoods or uncivilized college, it’s impossible to deny the power, beauty and terror of the swamp’s song.

Swamp Song
3rd-level College of the Swamp Song feature
You’re able to summon a manifestation of the swamp itself. As an action, you fill a 15-foot-radius sphere centered around a point you can see within 120 feet of you with a beautiful orchestra of chirping insects, frogs and other swamp critters that lasts for 10 minutes. Each creature that begins its turn within the area gains either advantage or disadvantage on Constitution saving throws (your choice per creature) until the start of its next turn. As an action, you can move this sphere up to 30 feet.
While your Swamp Song is active, your bard spells ignore resistance and immunity to poison damage and the poisoned condition.
When you use this feature, you can expend one of your Bardic Inspiration to also fill the sphere with magical darkness. You and creatures granted advantage on Constitution saving throws by your Swamp Song can see through this darkness.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Chomp!
